The first third of the book is very generic and contains mostly marketing information about windows 10 and the Hololens. For someone who bought a $3k development device this information ins not necessary and someone thinking about buying will most likely not buy a book on programming the device but instead follow the manifold online tutorials. This section is followed by an introduction of the development environment which is a bit too specific for me (the information that there is a web interface on the Hololens should suffice for developers, no need to explain every single link in it). This means that the real programming part is not covered in the length and depth that I had wished for.As a starting point to Hololens development this book is ok, however I found that the available online tutorials and samples got me further.
